Love is such an overused word. We love everything from our hair to our favorite band, TV show, or sport. But this word “love” goes so much deeper than our ever-changing fashions or activities. Love is God Himself, and He offers His love to us freely. He also wants us to learn how to love ourselves so that we can love others. Love means more than we can ever imagine. Through this series we’ll uncover its mystery and purpose for our lives.
Bottom Lines for each week:
February 16 – God’s love is free and He wants me to accept it.
February 23 – God’s love for me defines my self-worth.
March 2 – The ability to love is found in God, because God is love.
COLLIDE meets on Wednesday nights @ Brentwood Church from 6:30 to 8:30. All 6th-12th grade students are invited to come.
Started a new series this week at Collide called GET DIRTY. From the beginning, serving has involved getting dirty. God Himself got His hands dirty when He created man. Jesus got His hands dirty cleansing lepers and healing the sick. If we want to get involved in the life of Jesus, it means we expect to Get Dirty. It may be dangerous and will for sure be fun. It is impossible to serve from a safe distance. Let’s roll up our sleeves, dive into the lives of those who need Jesus, and wash some dirty feet!
Cory Ball is the College Life intern at Brentwood Church. He Brought week 1.

COLLIDE is the student ministry (6th-12th grade) @ Brentwood Church. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30.
This past Saturday (10/16) after going through SCAREMARE with our COLLIDE students I decided to hit up Mcdonald’s for a late night treat.
I’m sitting at a table enjoying a McFlurry with: Adam Pavao, Nick Cope, Bethany Hayes, and Mark Bassie.
Then something crazy happens. Greg Wright sits down at our table. Let me introduce you to Gary:
What would you do? Seriously……….what would you do?
James 2:14-17 says:
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. NIV
How about now…….what would you do?
We took Greg to Walmart and bought him:
Who paid for all that? Everyone at that table. We all invested time (2 hours) and money ($100). We prayed with Greg and invited him to Brentwood. We told him we would pay for his taxi so he could get to church. I’m praying he shows up one day!
I’m REALLY proud of everyone who was at that table that night. I’m proud of their hearts and their willingness to act. I think our faith was ALIVE, not DEAD.
