I recently saw Knight And Day with Tom Cruise and enjoyed it a lot!  Parents beware they do drop the F Bomb one time.  I’m not a huge Cruise fan but Top Gun is one of my favorite movies, right up there with The Goonies.  One of the best leadership principles I know came from Top Gun; “Never leave your wing man.”

About a month ago Josh Rose, who is the Administrator at Brentwood Church, told me he was going to a one day conference up in D.C.  However, he had a problem.  He was attending the conference with 5 women.  He was the only guy going.  I really have no desire to go to this conference.  I might be able to learn something but it won’t be life changing nor will it rock my world when it comes to ministry.  But I do know one of the best leadership principles ever and try to practice it as often as I can.  So I’m going.  Despite that I might be bored out of my mind, miss the MLB All Star Game, and shorten up my work week, there is something I will never do; Leave my wing man!
